TinkerSoc Annual General Meeting 2010

The time has come again for the TinkerSoc AGM and for us all to choose the committee for 2010/2011.

Meeting at 6.00pm on Wednesday 7th April, we will give a short presentation on the past year, a discussion about the state of TinkerSoc and last but not least, our Elections. As this is a meeting that directly affects every member, you will all need to be there. If you cannot make it, email matt@tinkersoc.org with your apologies.

Committee Positions

President

The president coordinates and focuses the efforts of other committee members.

Responsibilities

To organise and co-ordinate events
To ensure the smooth running of the society
To act as a liason with the union
To focus the efforts of other committee members
To chair committee meetings

Secretary

Responsibilities

Arranging and publishing the agenda for the committee meetings
Taking minutes at committee meetings
Managing the mailing lists and the wiki
Booking rooms and venues for events and meetings

Treasurer

Responsibilities

Filling in budget applications
Processing receipts
Collection of money (for events only)

Media Comms Officer

Responsibilities

Updating the blog/twitter/facebook/flickr pages with recent information
Sending event announcements on mailing lists
Organising publicity for the society
Collecting feedback from members

Eddy Xample	I will make an excellent example for TinkerSoc. It's in my genes. My father was E.Xample, my grandfather was E.Xample and my children will be good little E.Xamples after me. I will bring novelty and charm to TinkerSoc, and I promise to increase the number of llamas at our workshops.

Chris Roberts

As cofounder of the society, I've been on the committee from the very beginning. Next year I hope to broaden our reach and encourage the society to hold more events and activities, and try to bring together the members of the society to play with new and exciting things. I also hope to improve our inter-society activities, and bring in a diverse range of people to our society. Also, I can bake really nice cakes.

Emma Johnson	I have been the treasurer of tinkersoc almost constantly since it began. I know what forms to fill in for what situations, I can count (ish) and I care about keeping the society running and know how to do all the financial gubbins to make that happen!

Kezzy Robins

I am a 'creative geek', this means that whilst I am not the most technical person in the known universe I'm good with ideas! I can communicate, send emails and keep blogs etc. up to date, vibrant and interesting. As course-rep for my course I am used to collecting feedback and using that to help things change for the better. I want to see Tinkersoc reach new people and enthuse our current members and I have lots of ideas on how that might be achieved!
